Policies

  1. Systems developers must familiarize themselves with the Web-Based Application Development Guidelines.
  2. Systems developers must adhere to University and Arts & Sciences privacy and security policies described at http://www.aas.duke.edu/comp/security/
  3. Production-level applications undergo an Arts & Sciences review process geared to identify and plan the institutional support needed to maintain them.
  4. All system developers are urged to understand the review process for production-level applications in order to prepare for potential broader application across the institution.
  5. An application is deemed a production-level application when it fulfills at least one of the following criteria:
    • the system provides operational support for institutional administrative processes; or
    • the system is deployed to a user base for which the original developer of the system does not have direct responsibility.
