Duke undergraduate students conducting research projects in any field or pursuing creative scholarship with a faculty Advisor are invited to participate in Visible Thinking. Registration requires a project abstract which will be available to the audience in a printed program.
Posters must be in place by 10:00 a.m. the presentation day. Presenters will pick up an easel, a piece of poster board and clips at the Registration Table in the Bryan Center (upper level). Poster boards are 32" x 40". Be sure to include the project title, name/s of author/s, including the faculty advisor's name on the poster. Posters will remain on display through 2:00 p.m. on the day of the presentation. When you register on line, you will select one or more hour-long periods between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.during which you must be near your poster to answer questions about your work. Easels should be returned to the designated location at the end of the session.
If the research presentation with results is not appropriate for a printed or assembled poster, students may create powerpoint files and use laptop computers as a table top presentation. The text should briefly summarize the research question, methods and results to emphasize the presenter's discussions with the audience. We will provide table top space for the computer. This space is limited; priority will be assigned to projects focused on visual studies such as documentary films, animations and film clips of research subjects.
Certain theater, art, and dance events scheduled for April will be publicized with Visible Thinking. Please let us know the details of your event for this publicity. If you have any questions about the nature of your presentation email Visible Thinking
