Synopsis of course content
This course covers United States history from the Great Depression to the present. It focuses on political developments in order to create a sustainable narrative, but always in the context of America’s changing cultural landscape and the impact of global exchanges and movements. Assigned readings provide a solid textual foundation, supplemented by readings that highlight key aspects of the history. Extensive use of media illustrates the lectures with important or representative primary source material.
