Synopsis of course content
Economics 110 is the basic course in macroeconomic theory for undergraduate economics majors. The course focuses on understanding the U.S. economy through the application of economic models to commonly available economic data using basic mathematics and simple statistical techniques. We will address core macroeconomic issues: economic growth, business cycles, unemployment, inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, as well as monetary and fiscal policies aimed at influencing the course of the macroeconomy. By the end of the course, students should be able to use sound economic analysis to make sense of current economic events and macroeconomic policies.
