Synopsis of course content
This course is an introduction to the importance of race and ethnicity in American politics, and the politics (historical, legal, attitudinal, and behavioral) of four of the United States' principal racial minority groups--blacks (African Americans), Latinos, Asian Americans and American Indians.
Exams
Midterm and final examinations.
Term Papers
Three short papers on assigned topics in lieu of a major term paper.
Grade to be based on
Three papers, midterm, final, and participation and assignments in discussion section.
