Synopsis of course content
Music, the Arts, and Culture in Renaissance Europe
In this class, we will explore the rich musical life of the Renaissance and
its links to the other arts of the time: poetry, dance, architecture,
painting, sculpture, and many others. Special areas of study will include
music in Shakespeare's England, the culture of Renaissance Italy, and the
role of women in early music.
No musical experience is required.
