Course Synopsis Input Forms

Instructions

Instead of typing your course descriptions onto paper forms, we are asking that you type them into an electronic form by way of the World Wide Web.

When you click on the input link above, you will be led through a series of selections to the specific form for your course.

The first page you will see will be a request for your code, which will enable you to proceed to the input forms. If you don't know your code, contact the DUS or DUS assistant of the department offering your course.

Once you've entered your code, you will be given a list of departments. Select your department by clicking on the name of your department (it will be a blue "hypertext link").

You will then see another list of courses. Select your course and submit the request in the same manner.

This will present you with the form for your course.

A few notes about the different pages:

  1. Words in blue are "hyperlinks" to other pages. You can click on them to get to different sections of the online synopsis interface. If a form has entry boxes that require you to type in text, you must be sure to click on the "save" button at the bottom of the screen to process the information and proceed to the next page.

  2. You can return to a previous display screen by clicking on your browser's Back button.

  3. When filling out a form, you can either type directly into the form or you can use your word processor to cut and paste."

  4. You are not constrained to the size of the field for the different areas on the form. Your descriptions can be longer (contain more lines) than the space on the forms.

  5. You cannot enter word processor formats, such as underlinings, font changes, and indentions.

Note: If you are not using Netscape version 2.01 or greater, you will notice formatting problems. We suggest that you upgrade your version. If you don't want to upgrade, just ignore the formatting errors -- they will only appear on your browser and won't be duplicated in the database.
