Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship

The Jack Kent Cooke scholarship is open to students who are graduating, or who are recent graduates (since May 2001) of a U.S. college or university. Graduates do not need to be U.S. citizens. Recipients are awarded up to $50,000 a year for up to six years to cover tuition and expenses.

Duke may nominate two seniors or recent graduates
for this award.

Eligibility

  • be a college senior or recent graduate (since May 2001)
  • have a cumulative undergraduate grade point average 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent)
  • plan to begin a full-time graduate degree program at an accredited university in the fall
  • be nominated by Duke

Selection Criteria:

  • academic ability and achievement
  • unmet financial need
  • will to succeed
  • leadership and public service
  • critical-thinking ability
  • application for or participation in the arts and humanities
