Arts & Sciences Information
Science and Technology
(A&SIST) works together with OIT
and the Site
License Committee to provide a standard suite of software
to Arts & Sciences faculty, staff and graduate students.
A&SIST
provides the following services:
- Works with OIT and the Duke Computer Store behind the scenes to
provide "one-stop" point of contact for Arts & Sciences software
purchases
- Partners with OIT, Duke
Computer Store and the University
Site License Committee to provide bulk-rate pricing for licenses.
- Supports systems to simplify the purchase process for A&S faculty,
staff and graduate students.
- Maintains a database of all software purchased through ASC recording
the details needed by Internal Audit to ensure licensing compliance.
In the event of computer failure, ASC will reinstall all licensed
software .
- Installs software upon receipt of requests via the Arts
& Sciences WorkQ Ticket.
- Supports certification process for users who
wish to install software independently consistent with Arts &
Sciences' policy.
