Starting the VNC Server Service on Windows 2000
Navigate to the Services control panel.
A "Services" window will appear, with a list of services. Scroll down and click on VNC Server as shown below.
Under the "Action" menu, click Start.
A window similar to below will appear while Windows 2000 attempts to start the VNC Server.
Note: On the "Services" control panel, the Startup Type for the VNC Server is Automatic. Thus, the VNC Server will start at boot for any subsequent boots.
Once the service starts successfully, the VNC password will need setting. See Setting the VNC password in the VNC configuration and installation page.
