Starting the VNC Server Service on Windows NT

  • Open the "Services" control panel by going under the "Start" menu, to Settings and click Control Panels.
  • Under the "Control Panel" window, click Services.
  • A "Services" window will appear, with a list of services. Scroll down and click on VNC Server as shown below.

  • The "Start" button will blacken in. Click Start.
  • A window similar to below will appear while Windows NT attempts to start the VNC Server.

Note: On the "Services" control panel, the Startup status for the VNC Server is Automatic. Thus the VNC Server will start at boot for any subsequent boots.

  • Once the service starts successfully, the VNC password will need setting. See Setting the VNC password in the VNC configuration and installation page.
